The lab is located at <a style=\"color: #1e4d2b;text-decoration: underline\" title=\"Colorado State University\" href=\"http:\/\/www.colostate.edu\/\">Colorado State University<\/a>\u00a0in the\u00a0<a style=\"color: #1e4d2b;text-decoration: underline\" title=\"Department of Physics\" href=\"http:\/\/www.physics.colostate.edu\/\">Department of Physics<\/a>\u00a0and consists of three research groups.<\/p>\n\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.physics.colostate.edu\/about\/people\/kristen-buchanan\/\"><span style=\"color: #1e4d2b\"><strong>Kristen Buchanan (Nanomagnetism)<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.physics.colostate.edu\/about\/people\/kristen-buchanan\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-39 alignleft\" style=\"float: left\" src=\"https:\/\/physlabs.colostate.edu\/maglab\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2019\/09\/kristen_buchanan-216x300.jpg\" alt=\"Kristen Buchanan\" width=\"216\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>My research explores lateral confinement and coupling effects in nanomagnets through both experimental investigations and numerical modeling. In addition to being an exciting subject of study from a fundamental perspective, nanomagnets are also important for the advancement of technology, for example, in spintronics devices, storage media, and for medical applications. My present work focuses on the magnetization reversal and spin excitations of patterned magnetic elements. The various research programs and projects are generally of fundamental interest as well as technological importance for high frequency, radar, and information storage applications. Current funded programs are supported by various government agencies, and private industry.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.physics.colostate.edu\/about\/people\/mingzhong-wu\/\"><span style=\"color: #1e4d2b\"><strong>Mingzhong Wu (Microwave Magnetics and Nanomagnetism)<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.physics.colostate.edu\/about\/people\/mingzhong-wu\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-71 alignleft\" style=\"float: left\" src=\"https:\/\/physlabs.colostate.edu\/maglab\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2019\/09\/wu-1-215x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"215\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Microwave Magnetics and Nanomagnetism Group are interested in many topics in magnetism and magnetic materials.
