The plan contains important information on how to respond to various emergencies which may arise when working in the Department.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #1e4d2b;font-size: 16pt\">Safety Training Courses<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Below you will find links to safety courses that should be completed prior to working with the associated hazards and to other important information. A number of these are links to courses provided by Lawrence Berkley National Laboratory (LBL) as\u00a0web-based safety training courses\u00a0that are available to the public.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a style=\"color: #1e4d2b;text-decoration: underline\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lbl.gov\/ehs\/training\/webcourses\/EHS0260\/\"><strong>Electrical Safety Course<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0This is an hour-long interactive online course. Strongly recommended if you will be working with potential electrical hazards. Requires\u00a0<a>Adobe Flash<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Compressed Gas and Cryogen Safety<\/strong>\u00a0Information on the hazards and safe handling procedures for compressed gases and for cryogens such as liquid nitrogen and liquid helium.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Laser Safety<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><a style=\"color: #1e4d2b;text-decoration: underline\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lbl.gov\/ehs\/training\/webcourses\/EHS0348\/\"><strong>Chemical Hygiene and Safety<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li><a style=\"color: #1e4d2b;text-decoration: underline\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lbl.gov\/ehs\/training\/webcourses\/EHS0243\/\"><strong>Soldering Awareness Training<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li><a style=\"color: #1e4d2b;text-decoration: underline\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lbl.gov\/ehs\/lead\/lead.htm\"><strong>Lead Hazard Awareness<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0Program designed to teach about the hazards associated with lead exposure. Includes emergency weather alerts, contact information for CSU and local police, and a link to the campus safewalk program.<\/li>\n<li><a style=\"color: #1e4d2b;text-decoration: underline\" title=\"Material Safety Data Sheets\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ilpi.com\/msds\/\"><strong>Material Safety Data Sheets<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0A Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) website is designed to provide workers and emergency personnel with information on the proper procedures for handling or working with a particular substance. MSDS&#8217;s include information such as physical data (melting point, boiling point, flash point etc.), toxicity, health effects, first aid, reactivity, storage, disposal, protective equipment, and spill\/leak procedures.
